It has been an exceptionally challenging 12-18 months with Covid affecting us all, downsizing leading to burglaries, Brexit causing bike delays and trying to work in an ever-changing environment. This has really tested us.
However, there is a light at the end of this tunnel - We have finally had the lease through and will soon be able to start building the new Afan Valley Bike Shed!
Due to the increases in construction costs, we will have to take on far more of the build than when we posted last year. This means that we will need to scale back our operation over the next 6 months, and so the hire fleet will close on 29th September.
We plan to sell off as many of the hire fleet as we can and so want to get the bikes in tip-top shape ready for sale.
We will be reducing our hours but will continue to carry out repairs to those damaging their bikes and aim to keep you riding at least until the end of October.
Subject to how the build progresses, we will likely carry out mechanicals by appointment only through the winter and still have bikes and parts for sale.
We will update our social media as changes come into force.
We aim to have the new shop open for April/May 2022 and hope to show you all the new and improved services we'll be able to offer then.
We'd like to say a huge "Thank You" to those who have supported us through the last year or so, and we look forward to welcoming you all back to a full service in the spring.
"Ben has just guided us above one of the highest sheer drops and looking back it comes clear that we teetered perilously close to the edge. It's a good job he's like a walking talking map."
Our personal touch is just one of the things that make us stand out from the crowd. Having ridden all over the world and experienced all varieties of mechanical issues, we feel we have taken our best and worst experiences and brought them together to establish our motto: To keep you riding!
We can stay open later if needed so that if you come down the trail with a mechanical issue, you can still get it fixed. Overnight servicing is also available so that if you're staying for the weekend, you can drop your bike off and get it repaired ready for the morning - So enjoy that evening's beer, worry free!

We spent the day with Ben and Stuart yesterday on the 'off piste afan' experience. It was brilliant, every kind of track you could imagine, spectacular views, proper lunch and a beer at the end. I'd say this is the future of MTB. A must do for any biker. Thanks guys!
Awesome service! Had some gearing issues on my ride today so popped in to see what the issue was! Fair play i had the bike back in less than 5 minutes with the problem fixed, making it equally annoying as it had its 6 week service at another rather larger bike store only this morning! Will only be bringing my bike here from now on!
Great shop. Ben fixed my dropper post in double quick time for me a few months ago when it broke on the climb out of the car park - and saved the ride that I had planned with my son.
